When you’re tasked with bringing the world’s biggest soccer event to life, you don’t just set up a TV and call it a day—especially when that event is a FIFA World Cup viewing party on the 59th floor of the iconic US Bank Tower.
For this "Behind the Scenes" look at this social event, we’re taking you up to the clouds to show you how Ace January Productions helped transform a blank-canvas venue into a high-octane, immersive soccer viewing party.
The Venue: High- Altitude Challenges
The 59th floor of the US Bank Tower is stunning, featuring 360-degree views of Los Angeles. However, for an AV team, floor-to-ceiling windows and 16-foot ceilings mean two things: massive amounts of natural light and a whole lot of empty air to fill with sound.
Our mission as the Audio Supplier? Ensure every cheer, whistle, and commentator’s call was heard with crystal clarity across 10,000 square feet. Along with ensuring all channels were free of interference.
The Audio: "Elevated" Sound
There’s a specific energy to the World Cup audience. It's electric, loud, and unpredictable. We deployed a dynamic audio system designed to handle the fans' chatter and cheering without washing out the play-by-play. By strategically placing our audio equipment, we created a seamless "sound zone" that felt intimate for the attendees near the screen but didn't overwhelm the folks networking.
The Result: A Memorable Celebration
As attendees gathered to watch the game, the technical elements worked exactly as they should—in the background. From the flawless live stream onto the LED screen to the seamless audio, it was a perfectly executed event.
